The International House

The International House is a place where international and exchange students can meet people who have gone through the same experiences as them, make friends and get involved in Canadian Student life. Through International House (also known as I-house), all University of Ottawa students are able to experience a new form of travel - one where the countries and cultures come right to them, right here on our campus.
The service provides interesting and fun activities and events that promote multiculturalism and diversity for all students. People are attracted to its welcoming atmosphere and intriguing multiplicity. In a world that is increasingly becoming a global community, services like ours are becoming an essential component to the education and social fabric of university life.

This service has been one of the quickest expanding SFUO services.
Our activities are affordable, or sometimes free! They include: International movie nights, potlucks, trips to various cities within Canada or the US, an amazing International Week, a discussion panel and an always unforgettable International Gala.

All this is possible with the help of devoted volunteers which help in the planning and organization of the different events. Volunteering opportunities are available for all students each semester and are a great way to get to meet new friends or various origins and gain an international experience!
